Huntsville’s Newest Tradition: Tinsel Trail Candlelight Christmas Eve Services

With thousands of visitors each year, the Tinsel Trail is one of Huntsville’s most anticipated Christmas season events. The glittering trees, festive music, and warm hot chocolate can put any Grinch into the holiday spirit.

This year, there will be a new addition to the Tinsel Trail- Candlelight Christmas Eve services. Together, First Baptist Huntsville and Blue Springs Baptist will lead short candlelight services at 7pm, 7:20pm, and 7:45pm on December 24.

These 12 minute long services, given by both Travis Collins from First Baptist Church and Don Darius Butler from Blue Springs Baptist Church, are meant to fit right into your stroll through the trees. Each service will be held underneath the manger scene, another Tinsel Trail tradition. You are welcome to come to one service, or all three.

During the service, guests will enjoy a retelling of the Christmas Story along with singing 2 Christmas carols to close out the service. Just as the light of Jesus came into a dark world, candles will be symbolically lit as the service ends. Leave feeling refreshed and peaceful before the chaos of Christmas morning ensues.

Create a new family tradition by joining fellow Hunstvillians at one of these inaugural services. Come as you are, and enjoy a beautiful, touching candlelight ceremony.
