If you haven’t seen downtown Huntsville’s Tinsel Trail, you’re in for a treat. Tinsel Trail is a glittering forest of some 300 decorated Christmas trees in Big Spring Park, happening now through Jan. 2. It’s a great place to start a new family Christmas tradition.
Tinsel Trail’s trees are sponsored by local corporations, small businesses, nonprofits, groups, and families. Many companies use the sponsorship as a fun teambuilding activity for employees. Some groups aim to draw attention to a cause important to them.
Returning this year, there is a life-sized Nativity above the Tinsel Trail overlooking the park. Celebrate the reason for the season with some special events including:
The Oasis– enjoy a cup of free hot chocolate to warm up your walk through the trail. Dec. 17-23 (6-9pm)
The Coral and Petting Zoo- bring the kids to get pictures made with the animals and shepherds from the Nativity scene. Dec. 20-21 (5-8:30pm)
Live Music– hear live Christmas music to put you in the Christmas spirit. Dec. 19-22 (7pm)
When you walk Tinsel Trail, be sure to take photos, and share them on social media with #ChristmasinHuntsville.
We hope to see you and your family out at the Tinsel Trail this year. Have a blessed Christmas season!
